Early life
In Indore, on December 19, 1984, Lokhande was born as Tanuja Lokhande. Born to Shashikant Lokhande and Vandana Phadnis Lokhande, a teacher, she was raised in a Marathi household. Along with a sister named Jyoti, she also has two brothers named Sooraj and Arun. In 2005, she relocated to Mumbai to pursue an acting profession after graduating. Career
Having competed in India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj (2007–09), Lokhande was cast in the lead role of Archana Deshmukh in the daily soap opera Pavitra Rishta, starring Ekta Kapoor. From 2009 until 2014, she played the role of Archana alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Hiten Tejwani. In 2013, Pavitra Rishta made a generational leap, and Lokhande started playing Ankita Karmarkar, Archana’s granddaughter, opposite Karan Veer Mehra. The show aired until 2014. Lokhande competed in Comedy Circus ka Naya Daur and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4, finishing fifth in both competitions. She starred opposite Sachin Shroff in two episodes of Ek Thhi Naayka.
Following a two-year break from acting following her divorce from Rajput, rumors circulated that Lokhande would be making her feature debut in the historical epic Padmaavat (2018), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She did, however, exit the movie, saying that she wasn’t ready for movies at the moment. The next year, there were rumors circulating that she and Sanjay Dutt had signed up to work on Girish Malik’s film Torbaaz. But after Malik said that Lokhande wouldn’t be working on the movie, the rumors turned out to be false.

They started dating in 2010 when Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput costarred in Pavitra Rishta. During a dancing reality show called Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4, Rajput made her a proposal. The couple discussed getting married in an interview from 2016. Nevertheless, the couple broke up that same year. In an interview afterwards, she claimed that Rajput wanted to concentrate on his work, which is why they broke up. The relationship between Lokhande and businessman Vikas Jain was made public in 2019. In a customary Mumbai ceremony, Lokhande wed Jain on December 14, 2021.
