Anil Kumble born October 17, 1970 is a former Indian cricketer, coach, and commentator who enjoyed an 18-year international career playing Test and One Day International cricket for India. Widely considered one of the best leg spinners and one of the greatest bowlers in Test cricket history, Kumble claimed 619 wickets, making him the third-highest wicket-taker at the time of his retirement in 2008. Notably, in 1999, he became only the second player, alongside England’s Jim Laker, to take all ten wickets in a Test innings against Pakistan. Unlike many of his peers, Kumble didn’t rely on turning the ball; instead, he focused on pace, bounce, and accuracy.
