He gained recognition for his role as Steve Harrington in the science fiction series Stranger Things (2016–present). He has also appeared in the comedy film Free Guy (2021) and in the fifth season of the crime drama series Fargo (2023–2024). As a musician, Keery was part of the psychedelic rock band Post Animal before pursuing a solo career. He released his debut studio album, Twenty Twenty, in 2019, followed by Decide in 2022. The latter produced the sleeper hit “End of Beginning,” which became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry after going viral on TikTok in 2024. Keery’s third album, The Crux, is set to release in April 2025.

Early life
Keery was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and is the second of five siblings. He attended River Valley Charter School, a local Montessori elementary and middle school, as well as Newburyport High School. As a child, he took part in Theater in the Open, a performing arts camp at Maudslay State Park. During high school, he began acting at the urging of his older sister. Keery later studied at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, where he graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.
