Early Life
Feige was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Westfield, New Jersey. He moved to New Jersey at the age of three, where he lived until he graduated from Westfield High School. His maternal grandfather, Robert E. Short, was a television producer in the 1950s, known for working on soap operas like The Guiding Light and As the World Turns.
After high school, Feige attended the University of Southern California (USC), inspired by his favorite directors, including George Lucas, Ron Howard, and Robert Zemeckis. Although he faced rejection from the USC School of Cinematic Arts on his first five attempts, he was accepted on his sixth application. He graduated in 1995 with a degree in film and was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2023.
