Kelleher was born and raised in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. He attended Presentation Brothers College, a well-regarded secondary school in the area.

Club Career

Caoimhín Kelleher joined Liverpool’s academy in the summer of 2015, making the move from Ringmahon Rangers. He became a regular part of Liverpool’s pre-season squad in 2018 and traveled with the team on their summer tour of the United States. he signed a new contract with the club. Though he didn’t play, Kelleher was on the bench for the 2019 UEFA Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur. With Liverpool winning the title, he became the 12th Irish player to lift the trophy—and the first in over ten years. Despite recovering from wrist surgery at the time, Kelleher was again named on the bench during Liverpool’s victory.

He made his competitive debut on 25 September 2019 in a 2–0 win over Milton Keynes Dons in the EFL Cup, keeping a clean sheet.  Kelleher made his Champions League debut with a clean sheet in a 1–0 victory over Ajax. Just five days later, he made his Premier League debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers, keeping another clean sheet in a 4–0 win—his third straight shutout. At 22 years and 13 days old, he became the third-youngest Liverpool goalkeeper.
