Hailing from Jundiaí, São Paulo, Veríssimo began his football journey with the youth team of José Bonifácio before moving to Linense, where he was promoted to the senior squad in January 2013. Soon after, he joined Santos FC, initially playing in their youth ranks. On March 26, 2015, he extended his contract with the club until April 2017. Veríssimo received his first senior team call-up on November 28, 2015, for a Série A match against Vasco da Gama, stepping in due to Paulo Ricardo’s suspension. Although he didn’t play in the 0–1 away loss, he was officially promoted to the first team on December 30, 2015, following a shortage of players.
He made his senior debut in a friendly against Bahia on January 23, 2016, completing the full match in a 2–2 draw. His professional debut came a week later on January 30, starting in a 1–1 draw against São Bernardo in the Campeonato Paulista. After establishing himself as a regular starter, he extended his contract on March 2, 2016, through to December 2019.
