Navigating Turbulent Times

Chirag Paswan faced numerous difficulties and hardships throughout his political career. Following his father’s passing in 2020, conflicts emerged within his family and political circle with his uncle Pashupati Paras. Nevertheless, Chirag took charge of his party during the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, tactically positioning candidates in JD(U) areas, leading to a substantial decline in the seat count of Nitish Kumar’s party from more than 70 in 2015 to only 43 in 2020.

The LJP Split

During 2021, internal conflicts escalated within the LJP, causing a division with Paras heading one group and Chirag leading the other. The disagreement led to Paras taking five out of the six LJP MPs with him, while his nephew’s faction was left with only one MP and no MLAs. Nevertheless, Chirag continued to show unwavering loyalty to Narendra Modi and the BJP.

Resurgence and Victory

Acknowledging Chirag’s increasing impact, the BJP embraced his return to the NDA alliance in 2023. During the discussions on seat allocation for the Lok Sabha elections, Chirag’s group successfully secured all five Bihar Lok Sabha seats, Hajipur included, edging out Paras. Chirag ran in the Hajipur constituency, a significant victory that further established his position as his father’s rightful political successor.

The Road to Success

Chirag Paswan’s transition from a short period in Bollywood to serving as a minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet illustrates his perseverance, strategic intelligence, and political acumen. His skill in handling internal conflicts, running as an independent candidate, and achieving a significant win highlights his rise as a strong leader, not only in Bihar but also at the national level. By joining the Modi 3.0 cabinet, Chirag Paswan is set to broaden his impact beyond Bihar and make a promising entry onto the national platform.

 The Rise of Chirag Paswan

Chirag Paswan’s transformation from an unsuccessful actor to a notable minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet showcases his steadfast determination and political skills. Through his tactical moves, decisive actions, and impressive electoral victories, Chirag Paswan has established a prominent position in Indian politics, being acknowledged as a pivotal figure poised to influence the political sphere in the future.

From zero To Hero: The Rise of Chirag Paswan

Chirag Paswan from the Lok Janshakti Party has taken oath as a member of the new Union cabinet. He represents the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency and has secured a ministerial position in Modi’s third cabinet. This marks a significant transformation for Paswan, who was once an aspiring actor and has now become a Union minister. The Hajipur seat is special to him as it was previously held by his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan, who established the Lok Janshakti Party in 2000. Paswan’s accomplishment is noteworthy, especially considering the internal conflicts within his party, led by his uncle Pashupati Paras, which led to the loss of the party’s official symbol.

In 2024, Paswan, aged 41, started the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas Paswan), which won all five seats it contested. Chirag Paswan began his political career in 2012 by joining LJP and won the Jamui seat in Bihar in 2014. This seat was vital to him as his father had won it eight times since 1977. As a Member of Parliament, he was on various committees and chaired LJP’s Central Parliamentary Board. In 2019, he was re-elected from Jamui. Later that year, he became the LJP’s national president. Chirag, born in 1983, studied in Delhi. He started a B.Tech but left in the third semester. Before politics, he tried Bollywood briefly. His first film was in 2011 but didn’t succeed. This led him to switch to politics in 2012.

Chirag joined politics, helping LJP ally with BJP in 2014 after persuading his father. This boosted LJP’s success from zero seats in 2009 to six in 2014. In 2019, LJP won all six contested seats alongside JD-U and BJP. Chirag’s assets total ₹2.68 crore as per EC documents. After his father’s passing in 2020, a dispute arose with his uncle but was eventually resolved in 2021. 3.6 Crore Indians visited in a single day choosing us as India’s undisputed platform for General Election Results.
