Navratri is considered the holiest period, signifying nine days and nights dedicated to Goddess Durga. Devotees pray to Durga Mata and seek her blessings during this time. Navratri occurs four times a year, with Gupt Navratri falling twice during the months of Magha and Ashadha. During Gupt Navratri, devotees worship the nine forms of Mahavidhya. Observing a strict fast for nine days, they perform various rituals and ceremonies to please the Goddess.

Ashadha Gupt Navratri 2025: Puja Rituals
Upon waking up early in the morning, it is advised to take a sacred bath before commencing the puja ritual. Cleanse the household and the puja area, adorning it with rangoli designs and flowers. Start with Ghatsthapana at the specified time indicated for Kalash Sthapana. Proceed by placing an idol of Goddess Durga on a wooden platform and embellishing it with various adornments like chunni, sindoor, haldi, mehendi, and choodiyan. Light a diya using desi ghee, present a garland and a hibiscus flower, which is known to be the favored flower of Goddess Durga. Offer paan, fruits, and dry fruits. Recite different Mantras honoring Durga Mata, followed by the chanting of Durga Saptashati Paath. After the completion of the ritual, observe fasting until evening, breaking it with fruits, dairy products, and dry fruits. Before breaking the fast, perform the puja and recite Durga Aarti.
