Early Life & Education
Chirag Paswan was born on October 31, 1982. His father, Ram Vilas Paswan, a former Union Minister and founder of Lok Janshakti Party, was married to Reena Sharma from Amritsar. Chirag Paswan attended the National Institute of Open Schooling in Delhi in 2003. He started his B. Tech (Computer Engineering) studies at the Institute Of Engineering and Technology, Jhansi in 2005 but did not complete the course. In 2011, he acted alongside Kangana Ranaut in the Hindi movie “Miley Naa Miley Hum” before entering politics. 2011: Chirag Paswan worked as an Indian film actor before he entered politics, appearing in the movie “Miley Naa Miley Hum” in 2011.
Political Timeline
He ran for and emerged victorious in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the Jamui constituency, defeating Bhudeo Choudhary of RLSP by a significant margin of over 2,00000 votes. He held positions in various committees including the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, the General Purposes Committee of Lok Sabha, and the Standing Committee on Industry. Additionally, he was a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In 2014, Chirag Paswan was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Jamui. He defeated Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar by 199407 votes.
